Samurai Helmet -Tokugawa Ieyasu Kabuto. Beautiful ornate Cast Iron Fireplace circa 1890 – complete with baffle vent and fire brick (very rare for a fireplace of this age). The top of the mantle/shelf is 106cm (W) by 17cm (D). Overall height is 103cm. Width at its narrowest part taken near the middle is 83cm. No damage, full working order. Baffle is still secure once fitted shown in the photo as removed. Information on fire bricks: Fire bricks have a low thermal conductivity – meaning heat does not pass through the fire bricks, instead they reflect heat back into the firebox of the heater to ensure a hotter and more efficient burn. Although more durable to a normal brick, the fire bricks within your wood fire will eventually break down over time.
