This is a rare Victorian Solid Silver & Mother of Pearl Lorgnette. This was crafted c1880 making this beautiful Lorgnette around 140 years old. This is not Hallmarked but does test for Solid Silver and most of these Lorgnettes were not Hallmarked. It has the most Beautiful Shaped Mother of Pearl Handle although one side is chipped and comes away from its Holding and this is reflected in the price. On the end of the Mother of Pearl Handle is a Ring Attachment that would have been used for a Chatelaine. The Solid Silver Glasses have a lovely design and it folds nicely and extends nice, The Lenses are intact and in good condition. This would have once belonged to a wealthy Victorian Lady in the 19th Century when times were very different to today, this is a Quality Antique that would make a lovely Gift.
