One of the rarest & most desirable of Galluba & Hoffman’s bathing beauties from the 1920s. Two full figured ladies, one standing with right arm out & left draped over the back of her companion, who’s seated on a two-step green seat, one leg pointed out & away from seat, the other leg bent & foot back to bottom step. Standing lady has pink molded & painted ballet-type shoes; seated lady has blue ones. It’s unusual to have original suits, even if frail. Well-marked on base (see last photo). Some almost inevitable old minor damage: standing figure has old repaired fracture on her left shoulder where the arm joins–the suit strap covers it; original silk net bathing suits are frail & worn/torn in several places; otherwise excellent. A tour-de-force example of figurine making from the Art Deco period. A gorgeous, so rare & lovely piece to add to your collection! This was the crown jewel of my late husband’s collection.
