This is a very fine quality Beautiful Rare Georgian 18ct Gold Mounted Carved Wicker Case-Basket Snuff Box, this datesto circa 1800 making this wonderful snuff box over 220 years old. The detailing to this snuff box is stunning, it has been hand carved beautifully to form the shape and look of a wicker Case- Basket, with a carved thumb piece to the front, on opening this wonderful snuff box you see it has the most beautiful ornate 18ct Gold hinge, this is a beautiful design with curves in abundance, typical of this era, it also is of a good size and is held in place with four gold screws, its so very rare and has an elegance that is timeless, the hinge works as well today as the day it was made, you will not find another like this on the market. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb. This would have once belonged to a young Gentleman or Lady in the Georgian period and used daily in a time when things were so very different, this snuff box is so very tactile and once held it has the most wonderful feel.
