This 18th century needlework or embroidered rug was made in the region of Arraiolos, Portugal. The vivid yellows, lavender-blues, and forrest greens are harmoniously blended while the superb design clearly shows the legacy of Moorish influence in the region. 223 cm by 120 cm. The rug is in very good and clean condition, with some small areas of restoration sympathetically carried out.
