Rare Antique Victorian Filigree Festoon Lavaliere Colored Paste & Brass Necklace

This antique Victorian necklace boasts a stunning filigree festoon lavaliere design that exudes elegance. The piece features a variety of multicolored paste stones set in brass filigree with an infinity link style brass chain that is adjustable to fit any neck size up to about 18 inches. The necklace is perfect for any special occasion. The necklace needs some cleaning. I buffed it up with a magic eraser, but I didn’t want to damage it with cleaning chemicals. The brass settings fold over the colored paste stones to hold them in place. It appears to have all the original stones, which is amazing! The brass chain looks like infinity links, I have never seen them before. I did a lot of research trying to accurately date the piece. I found one other festoon necklace with this type of clasp so apparently it is rare. The necklace might be older than I have declared it. The necklace measures about 18.5 inches from end to end. The bib measures about 4 inches top to bottom. Overall, this piece is in excellent condition for its age. Please make sure you can be home or get to the post office to receive it. The hinge to the lid is solid and in good condition. 6 inches from tail to nose and stands a little over 4 inches tall. Overall, this inkwell has amazing eye appeal due to both the vivid colors and the gorgeous patina that comes with age. I believe it dates back to the late 1800’s/early 1900’s. All in all, it’s a truly lovely example of a camel inkwell and one that any collector would love to have!
