RARE 18th CENTURY Thomas Carpenter SOLID SILVER VERGE FUSEE POCKET WATCH 1789. RARE BEAUTIFUL GEORGIAN Faux PRESSED TORTOISESHELL AND COPPER- GILT SNUFF BOX. This is a Rare Stunning Georgian Faux Pressed Tortoiseshell and Copper-Gilt Table Snuff Box, i believe this was crafted c1800 making it around 221 Years old. This Georgian Faux Tortoiseshell and Gilt Snuff Box has the most amazing Pressed Design into the Faux Tortoiseshell with nice Dark Colour to the Faux tortoiseshell, and having a Weaved Design within Diamond Shapes all over the Lid, and there are still some traces of Gold Wire Work all over the Lid and still around the edge of the Lid and in certain light you can see the Colours of the Faux Tortoiseshell and some of the Gold Wire Pique Work. The Lid and the base has the same Weave Design but in Cross Shapes. The Lid Edge and the Base Edge has Gilt Decoration including the Raised Scroll Shape Thumb Piece, and the Lid opens and closes nice and Smoothly and the Hinge is in good condition. The Sides of the Snuff Box have a lovely Copper and Gilt Patterns all around the Box. This would have once belonged to someone Wealthy back in the Georgian Period when times were very different to today, it is so Tactile and really is a Quality Snuff Box, There is wear to the Gilt on the inside of the Snuff Box and some Gold Wire Work missing from the Lid, but this doesn’t detract from the Beauty of this Antique and is only mentioned for accuracy, this would add something special to any collection and my Photos don’t do it Justice. BEAUTIFUL RARE ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN ASPREY SOLID STERLING SILVER GILT BOX – NO MONOGRAMS – HIGH QUALITY – BY THE FAMOUS ASPREY OF BOND STREET LONDON HALLMARKED CHARLES & GEORGE ASPREY – MID EDWARDIAN ERA – LONDON 1904 – HIGHLY COLLECTABLE – GREAT GIFT! This is a rare and beautiful antique solid sterling silver gilt box, in an unusual shape with a hinged lid – please see the photos. It is of the highest quality, crafted by the world famous Asprey of London in the mid Edwardian era, with the collectable hallmark of Charles & George Asprey, London 1904. The quality of the workmanship is clear – it is beautifully made. The box is gilded both internally and externally and there are no monograms or engravings of any kind. As regards the gilt – a lot of it is intact externally but it has worn in places – please see the photos. Internally, the gilt is just beautiful – all intact and a lovely warm, rich golden colour. Externally also there are lots of scratches, mainly to the base and lid, commensurate with age and use. Ordinarily, I would have polished all the scratches and marks out and made it as good as new. Unfortunately, this is not possible because of the gilt – I wanted to leave that intact as much as possible. In any case, personally, I dont mind the signs of age and use to the gilt – it tells me that this box has clearly been loved and used for its intended purpose. And it is a very tactile piece, lovely to hold. I love to wonder about the original owners of antique pieces such as this. Whoever it was must have been very wealthy! The box is in a good gauge of silver and it has a nice weight for its size of over 65g. You can imagine what a thoughtful, unusual gift this elegant piece of antique Asprey silver would be for you to give! And remember, collecting silver is a fascinating hobby. BEAUTIFUL RARE CASED ANTIQUE SOLID STERLING SILVER GILT BLADE SET OF SIX KNIVES – GORGEOUS BLUE HANDLES ORIGINAL PRESENTATION BOX – HIGH QUALITY WILLIAM HUTTON & SONS LTD HALLMARKED SHEFFIELD 1922 GOOD CONDITION GREAT GIFT! On offer is this very beautiful, rare cased antique set of six solid silver gilt knives. What makes them special, and rare, are the gorgeous blue handles. There are a multitude of different shades depending on the way the light hits them. They are very unusual, so beautiful to look at – please see the photos and they do not do them justice. This stylish set was crafted by William Hutton & Sons Ltd almost 100 years ago, hallmarked for Sheffield 1922. They come in their original fitted presentation box. In good condition overall, especially considering their age, you can imagine what a wonderful, unusual gift they would be for you to give! And remember, collecting silver is a fascinating hobby. As a welcome distraction in these troubled days, why not start your own collection of antique silver? It need not be expensive and you will have something to value and pass on when better times return. Last year I obtained my own hallmark at the London Assay Office. The knives are about 16.5cm in length and weigh around 23g each. As usual, each piece will have a weighted handle. In good antique condition overall, especially considering they are nearly 100 years old. They seem to have been kept safely in their box. The only point to mention is that there is a little repair to a small area of one of the blue handles just below the blade where a piece has come away and been glued back in, only noticeable on close inspection. This is a Rare Beautiful Georgian Faux Tortoiseshell Beautiful Flowers Design Gilt Round Snuff Box, this i believe was crafted c 1800 making it around 220 years old, this is a Beautiful Rare Georgian Snuff Box with a raised Domed Glass Lid, inside the Lid are a Beautiful Flowers Design of Stunning Colours on a Purple Background, to the Centre it looks like a Rose. Also inside the Glass Dome are Strands of Gold Colour that Weave around the Flowers, the Rim of the Lid is Gilt and it pulls off and back on nice and tight fit, the inide Lid and inside base of this Snuff Box has a Beautiful Faux Tortoiseshell Finish, this would have been owned by someone wealthy in the Georgian period when times were very different to today, it is very tactile and is in good condition with just light surface wear, and has a nice tight Vacuum Seal to the Lid that would have kept the Snuff nice and Dry, this is highly Collectable and would add something special to any collection.
