Rare Vintage antique whale oil lamp with a glass font and time keeping Roman numerals. A hard item to find, especially in this condition. No markings, but from internet research, may be of German origin, likely early to mid 1800’s. Complete with original chain and cleaning metal probe. This is about 13″ tall and the bottom diameter is 5 1/2″. Condition: Very very nice condition with a beautiful surface and no damage. Possibly never used, the only patina is a bit of discoloration to the metal’straw’ which is not of pewter. Glass font is very nice with no chips, cracks, etc. Hinged cover works fine and smooth. I can’t imagine a much nicer instance of this rare and beautiful lamp.
