Rare beautiful shell cameo Whitby jet Victorian antique vintage stretch bracelet

Breathtaking original Victorian Whitby jet bracelet featuring an exquisite Romanesque carved shell cameo in the centre, mounted in jet. The body of the bracelet is made up of faceted panels. Each panel is 1.5″ long and 0.5″ wide. Measures about 6.5 around when unstretched. Condition is generally excellent. There are some minor chips to some of the faceted panels, mainly around where the holes are located on the edge. There is some patina (light surface scratches) to the surface of the faceted panels.

The brooch measures one and a quarter by one and a half inches and is all set in a lovely quality yellow gold mount with a rosey patina, which i havent tested, but is either gold or gilt, but a very attractive engraved setting. The brooch is really delightful and depicts a shell cameo of hebe & zeus in the form of an eagle, with the most lovely quality to detail and this is a nicely carved cameo. The cameo has a pin and CClasp working well, and dates clearly to the victorian period. However this really is a beautiful victorian quality rare cameo in very good origional complete condition and such beautiful example, that is a must for a serious collector. The brooch measures two inches by nearly two & a half inches and is all set in a gold coloured mount, which looks to be gold, or it could be pinchbeck, but it is quality & i havent tested it. The brooch is just lovely and depicts a shell cameo of hebe & zeus in the form of an eagle, with lovely quality to detail and this is a really nicely quality carved cameo. The cameo has a pin and CClasp working well and dates clearly to the victorian period & as with age & wear, it does have a small piece missing from the edge of the cameo, but its not on the carving, please see pics, However i dont think it detracts as i never realised till closely looking as the cameo is so interesting. However this really is a beautiful victorian quality rare camee in condition as stated and such beautiful interesting example of these.
