This beautiful rare 18th century silk velvet vest piece has the center piece in a lovely soft grey/ blue/ green color with the cut velvet motifs. In small diamonds throughout with the perimeters in large cut velvet leaves on all sides. Clearly this lovely piece had been made for a man’s vest as there are button holes on one side. Wonderful for collectors to own a rare piece of French history! 19 ” W X 31 ” L. T his is antique fabric. There are some opened areas around some of the leaf motifs. There are some holes , several seams and one patch from the back. Also discoloration towards the bottom which is of interest as the true color has been more of a soft teal.
