Large Antique Art Nouveau Book Case (33cm x 24cm). For sale is a rare and beautiful antique book protector/ case. The covers are painted in a mesmerising pattern, while the blue metal interior is equally bright. I’ve researched this item and cannot find anything like it, although more traditional versions sell well. See photos for accurate description. Item generally worn and used, with fading, scratches etc. Closing the item is a little haphazard, and sometimes stays opens a few millimeters. Edge corners have gaps as photographed. Spine has approx two inch gap halfway down (see photo). Quite good in all for the age. Minor crazing throughout – one tiny scuff on the tip portion of the vase – I acquired this from an elderly lady who said she received it from her grandmother… She said she believes it to be Roseville but I do not see a mark.
