STUNNING Rare FINE QUALITY VICTORIAN BOXED 14CT GOLD (Powdered Wig Gentleman) CAMEO RING. This is a beautiful Rare Fine Quality Victorian Boxed hand carved 14ct Gold Cameo Ring, (Georgian Powdered Wig Gentleman) i would estimate it dates to circa 1850 making it over 170 years old, is in lovely original condition, the carving to the cameo is beautiful and the colour stunning with the image of a very handsome Georgian Gentleman wearing his powdered wig, he is wonderfully detailed with a ribbon to the back of his wig and wearing his neck stock, this image is very unusual and special, this is framed in 14 ct gold and is an oval shape and of a good size, the shoulders of the ring itself are lovely and split in tthree and fan out to the body of the cameo, the band of the ring is crafted also in solid 14ct gold, this has been tested, it isnt hallmarked though this isnt unusual for this period, the size of the ring is an L. 5 and the cameo itself meausures 2 cm by 1.5 cm which is of a good size, the design and decoration is wonderful, its beautiful, the design is very special, this sits within its very pretty dark blue leather box with gold tooling, the interior has a cream velvet which the rings sits snugly in and the inside top has a cream padded silk interior with yet more wonderful gold tooling, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb as you would expect, this would have once been worn daily in the Victorian period, this was many years ago when times were so very different. This is so very tactile and once held has a wonderful feel, my photos dont do it justice. This will add something special to any collection.
