A Rare & Beautiful 90 Year Old Antique Oak buffet Sideboard. Made in England during the reign of Kong George V in around 1930 to a beautiful standard. The wonderful moulded top over a blind fretwork frieze above four beautifully panelled outward opening doors. With lovely 1930s brass pull handles enclosing shelves. Above long cutlery drawers with brass pull handles and moulded edges. All raised upon beautifully carved baluster legs with central stretcher shelf, terminating large carved bun feet. During the 1930s Mr John McMeeking, was the managing director of lace manufacturers, A C Gill limited of Fletcher gate, Nottingham. He had this sideboard made for his dinning room at The End House, Pembroke Drive, Nottingham with the frieze to match the fireplace. Made to beautiful large proportions and to a wonderful standard, It will stand very proud in any room. The oak has a wonderful colour and rich patina created over the last 90 years. A wonderful piece of English history thats overflowing with charm. Height 139 cm – Width 169 cm – depth 56 cm.
