Rare Stern Brothers “Swimmer” Thimble in 14k GOLD. This Stern Brothers version in 14k gold is very rare. This thimble was made more commonly in sterling silver. (as shown in Rogers, American Silver Thimbles, pg22). This thimble, circa early 1900s, is described as, “A sensuous young woman with dreaming eyes and flowing hair set against a background of swirling waves”. This thimble is in amazing condition for its age. No attempt has been made to polish or buff it. It is in perfect round and shows very little wear. Shown as Size 8.
