A rare & beautiful 240 year old Georgian Antique Oak long case Grandfather Clock. Made in Great Britain during the reign of King George III in around 1780 to a lovely standard. The lovely swan neck pediment with three brass finials stands proudly above a glazed door flanked by turned column supports with a tiny ivory pull handle. The oak cabinet with a fitted door, lock and key and raised upon a plinth base. The lovely dial painted with floral spandrels, Roman numeral hours and outer minutes. A true antique, it would very stand proud in any room. Then oak has a wonderful patina and rich glow, created over the last two centuries. A wonderful piece of British history that was an essential in every wealthy household. Our clocks are half the price of antique & clock shops.
