The necklace features a stunning collection of natural red garnet stones set in a 4 strand design with a larger gold clasp. It is such a rare and unusual necklace that is over 200 years old superb! The clasp is highly ornate and features a central cluster of bohemian garnets set with a pear cut garnet to each side. It has a hidden clasp and would have been worn as the pendant to the front when worn. The gold clasp measures 26mm by 20mm. The necklace is Georgian and dates around the late 1700s. It is in remarkable condition for its age with only some light surface wear, but nothing ruins the beauty of this 200+ year old piece. The necklace features 4 strands of garnet beads that make up this fine quality chocker necklet. It is very typical of this period to not be hallmarked, however it has been fully tested by a jeweller for 18k gold. The necklace also comes with a charming vintage heart shaped box that displays the necklace perfectly. It truly looks stunning when worn it will be much admired!
