A fabulous and very rare antique Georgian pinchbeck Halley’s Comet brooch, with huge faceted genuine rock crystals and a beautiful dropper tail. The brooch looks mesmerising whenever it catches the light – I have tried to show this in the pictures, but it is rather difficult to capture in natural light. It really is a stunning and unique piece, and weighty too. The brooch fastens with a simple C clasp. The elongated pin extends well beyond the frame. Elongated pins are often found on larger brooches from the Georgian period and were made to go through the thicker fabrics of the day. Lovely Large Size, Measures approximately: 1.5″ diameter x 2.75″ drop. Or 32mm diameter x 69mm drop. The pin extends by a further 7mm.
