BEAUTIFUL VERY RARE BOXED SET OF 6 VICTORIAN DUTCH SOLID SILVER POINTED BOWL SPOONS – FULLY HALLMARKED 1851. On offer is this very beautiful, very rare Victorian Dutch solid silver spoons with pointed bowls dating to 1851. To the finials there is a lovely bright cut engraved pattern of flora and leaves – please see the photos. They are fully hallmarked, to the front of the base of the stem, there is a maker’s mark – unidentified. To the reverse of the stem, the usual marks for Dutch silver: the. Minerva Head for the duty mark; the lion passant with the number “2” beneath for grade 833 silver – sterling is slightly higher at 925; the letter “R” for 1851. They are in good antique condition, especially considering they are 171 years old, and you can imagine what a great addition they would be to any collection! And, as a welcome distraction in these troubled days, why not start your own collection of antique silver?
