For sale is a RARE! And highly unique antique 19th Century metal smith Handmade sheet copper weathervane in the primitive form of a Native American with his bow and arrow. He has great details in muscle tone as well as a head decoration made with three large feathers. His bow is fully open and the arrow ready to fly! Very balanced and dynamic posture. The design is 3D in the sense that the body is made with two layers of copper and are soldered together with a hollowed interior. This means that you can see his right hand holding the tensioned string on one side and have that hand hidden when viewing it from the other side. See photos for the perspective of both sides. The metal has nice and even oxidation. The supporting iron bars are solid and sit on a custom made wooden block stand. It measures approximately 30″ tall and about 21″ wide from the top of the arrow to the other end of the horizontal bar. The wood block measures 14″ by 4″ by 3. The weathervane is in excellent antique condition. No damages or repairs is found anywhere. Overall, a great high class display item for an antique/art collector’s home.
