Beautiful & rare late Victorian sterling silver and mother of pearl magnifying glass and letter opener desk set. Both matching & fully Hallmarked; to the blade of letter opener, the ferrules and end caps as follows:(blade) Makers mark WG over JL for Goldsmith’s & Silversmith’s Co, Regent St, London. (William Gibson & John Laurence Langman). Leopard head for London, Lion passant for sterling silver and date letter (a) circa. (Ferrules/collars and end caps) Crown for Sheffield, Lion passant for sterling silver and date letter(d) circa. Makers mark GH for Harrison Brothers & Howson (George Howson). Measurements are: Letter opener is approximately 20cm x 1.6cm and 42.36grams. The magnifying glass(strong) is approximately 17cm x 1.4cm and 84.49grams. Combined weight of 126.85grams. Stunning Victorian desk set made from sterling silver and mother of pearl in great unpolished as acquired form and very rare to be in this good condition with both intact. The tarnish for me adds to the beauty and if polished would be a shame to loose such a lovely patina which compliments the age of this fabulous antique desk set. A collaboration piece which speaks providence and boasts the hallmarks of a quality item made for the prestigious Goldsmith’s & Silversmith’s London. Beautiful Antique Rare Solid Silver & Enamel Pansy Brooch, John Atkins & Sons. Here is a really lovely antique solid silver & enamel pansy brooch. The brooch measures just over one inch in diameter & is all made of solid silver. This brooch is really fabulous quality of what you would expect from this maker & depicts a pansy which is beautifully guilloched enamelled in colours of blue, white, yellow in stunning detail. On the back it has a pin & Cclasp working well & it has the early written mark for sterling silver, no-1289 & dates to around the 1920s & the quality makers mark of JAS for the quality maker of John Atkins & Sons & the enamel looks to be nearly perfect, but has very slight loss to a minute section, it certainly is not obvious by the naked eye but just mentioned for total accuracy, but is so vibrant, see pics. However this really is a lovely antique brooch in very good origional complete condition that looks as wearable as when it was made & a rare example of these.. Please note the white on each bud is photo reflection Box not included. I love antique jewellery, so hope that you to can appreciate my items, that have been pre loved with history. Antique Kord 8 Desk Fan, Rare, Custom Restoration, Beautiful! You are looking at an authentic item. Rarely do you find this type of unit professionally restored to this level. A company that has been in business since 1985. Look us up on the net. This 8″ Kord electric desk fan is one of the more rare “dime store pieces and has an obscure place in our history. We meticulously dissembled all existing parts and electrical connections and repaired as needed, cleaned, and reassembled to bring this piece back to life by our skilled technicians. All inside components have been refurbished and re-protected. All visible parts have been professionally polished, restored, and/or professionally painted with show car automotive paint. The fan blades have been re balanced for smooth operation. Dimensions are 8″X13″X7. This model is a single speed fan and has a switch as originally manufactured on back of the motor cover. It has a heavy cast iron base too. The switch is the original and was refurbished as well. There are no defects in the original design and works as it did over 85 years ago. The cage has been polished and BRASS PLATED, along with the polished and restored cage button! We have also added a customized black and viper red paint job to enhance the features of this really beautiful little fan and make it a one of a kind piece. The fan is heavy for it’s size and works smoothly and correctly just as it did back in the day. What a great little piece to use and display. By the way, understand the reflections in the pictures may make things look like there are bare spots or paint missing. This is an illusion, there are no chips or bare spots.
