We view lamps as more than lighting, we view them as art. As more than a way to brighten a room, a way to brighten ones day. Up for consideration is this Rare Awesome Beautiful Antique Arts & Crafts Beige Five Light Curved Slag Glass Chandelier with the same slag glass downward crown embellishment above. This is one of the most unique lamps we have ever seen, and that is saying something because we are lamp people (nuts)! The five down and then upswing goose neck shade connects, the ornate bronze or brass metal work on the shades and upper crown embellishment and just plain simple understated Old Hollywood style, beauty and elegance is amazing! It is no wonder that it was found in the very wealthy and affluent area of the south end of the Monterey Peninsula on California’s Pacific Coast in Carmel by the Sea, and located near Big Sir, Pebble Beach and Pacific Grove. No doubt it was taken from a mansion, where at some point it was proudly displayed! Then probably removed because the property was being restored to suit today tastes. Youngsters who want either mid century or newer, more modern, minimalist decor. We are thankful there are still those who appreciate the turn of the century arts and crafts period! It is in very good to excellent high end estate condition. There are areas of patina or tarnish on the bronze or brass (see photos). There are also areas of flaking or missing paint on the black base goose neck mount (see photos). There are no chips or cracks in any of the slag glass. The connections are secure but there is some wobbling or shaking when moved (it is antique). We see no bends in any of the metal. Ideally we believe this piece would be best installed hardwired into a ceiling fixture. The wiring appears to have been updated but we highly suggest that it be inspected by a professional licensed electrician prior to use! It measures approximately 22 inches in diameter, 5 inches in diameter for each light at top and 17 inches from top hook to bottom of chandelier.
