A Beautiful 100 Year Old Antique Oak Commonwealth Bureau Bookcase. Made in England during the reign of King George V in the 1920’s to a lovely standard. With a flared cornice with deep frieze above a pair of glazed cupboard doors enclosing shelves. The base with fall front cover that lifts to reveal a fitted interior of pigeon holes and shelves over two short drawers and two long drawers. The drawers with geometric panelled fronts and blackened brass pull handles. All raised upon shaped block feet united by stretchers. Made to wonderful proportions it will stand proud in any room. The oak has a lovely colour and pleasing patina. Created over the last 100 years. A wonderful piece of English history that’s overflowing with historic charm. As expected with age the usual characterful marks. Fall front cover not quite closing fully but all lovely. Height 188 cm – Width 89 cm – depth 50 cm. Height to desk 76 cm.
