This beautiful rare 19th Century Chinese silk appliqué conversational embroidery has a creme colored silk/satin background with charming vignettes of figures, flower pots, birds and butterflies. All done in appliqué! 26 inches in Length by 25.5 inches in Width. The background fabric is fragile and has several “breaks” or rips. There are a few pieces of the appliqué are missing. With charming repeated flowers in blue, red, and gold enclosed diamond-like shapes in a soft olive green. There are small lovely flowers surrounding the diamond -like shapes. Wonderful for collectors of 18th C. 22″ W x 35 ” L. There are areas that are somewhat threadbares. However, to use they only add to the charm of this early fabric. See photos for detail. With sprays of multicolored flowers on the top part of the fabric in yellow, rose and blue with green leaves. There is a large border with the same flowers in pink, rose, lavender, gold and blue. There is also a small border along the bottoms with small flowers and a scroll motif. 35″ W X 171/4″ L. Superb for collectors of 18th century French fabrics. Please see photos for reference. With charming botanical small bouquets of flowers scattered throughout in soft tones of lavender, purple, pink, yellow, pale blue and green. There is also a lovely embroidered border along the left hand side with flowers, vines and leaves in the same colors.
