Antique Billboard Advertising Sample Book-May Be One Of A Kind-RARE & BEAUTIFUL! This book was used to test the market to see if people have noticed these different billboards in the Ft Wayne IN area. Inside the cover is a note taped to the cover that reads I have here some pictures of outdoor posters, some of which have recently appeared in Fort Wayne; others have not appeared locally as yet, so that you may not recognize them. Will you please tell me which ones you recall having seen? The front and back cover is punched and each of the pages are punched so this would form a book but all pages are loose and not attached to front or back cover. These look and feel like actual photos that have been put into a cardboard or heavy paper frame to make them look like a billboard. In the green fencing of the framing sign it says “Outdoor Poster Advertising”. There are 19 pages total and here is a list of the companies being advertised. Based on the company and advertising style I believe these ads date from the late 1930’s through the 1940’s. I have spent a lot of time researching these ads and have not found anything like them. They are not the normal HO size or mini billboard size that you will see. Each page measures 14″ x 9″, from the each of the green billboard boarder they measure 11&1/2″ x 7&1/2″ and the photo inside measures 9 & 1/2″ x 4 & 1/2″. Each page may have small pencil writing in the corner of the white part of the page (not on the billboard or ad) and some have tape with a number in the corner.
