Beautiful 1920s Lenci 109 series in her original dress and shoes with original side bun hairdo. This lovely doll measures 22 tall and has a swivel head with pressed painted features. Her blonde mohair wig wig (tracked plaits) is original and affixed firmly to her head. Her side buns are in their original setting. She is jointed at the hips and shoulders and wearing a black felt dress with collar, puffed sleeves and flower appliqués. She is wearing matching blue felt Mary Janes with tiny blue buttons and her original socks. I do not believe her bloomers are original to her. Condition: As you can see from the photos, she has some wear in her felt to the legs and arms. All fingers are intact. Her hair has some thinning on the left side of her head, but is not noticeable when on display. Her beautifully painted face is in wonderful condition and her expression is absolutely divine. She is almost human-like in her presence and such a joy to behold in person. All photos accurate portray her condition. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. She has a beautiful painted face, there is a dark mark by her mouth. She has painted brown left glancing eyes. She is missing the left shoe. She is jointed but the left arm does not want to pivot. She has blond curly mohair hair. Her very pretty clothing has felt flowers, ruffles, and bows. She does have her original under slip W/ “Lenci” Button. Please see all pictures. This is a lovely rare and original 1920s / 1930s French boudoir doll. I have no idea who made this? I found her in a recent house clearance, she is not a run of the mill doll – shes one thats becoming more harder to find these days in such a nice and pretty condition. She has a cloth / muslin sacking face / body – her hands legs and shoes are made from a pottery which have been painted. She has beautiful hand painted facial features, she is wearing an original antique silk dress with an ostrich feather collar, lace frills and a faux pearl necklace choker. Lovely brown human curly hair. She can sit upright for displaying on a dressing table and she looks fabulous! Approx size: 28 inches high. Condition: This fabulous boudoir doll has been well used and well loved, as you would expect from a doll of this age. It has sat on display in a collection for many years. Her body and costume do show general signs of wear / holes / discolouration / rubbing / stains etc. The feathers are malting from age. There are some loose threads. Her hair will need brushing. One of the legs shows a crack down one side. She does however still display well considering her age. Priced to sell as I do not know much about her – she just creates a lovely statement piece on display!
