Beautiful Victorian Rare Silver Pate De Verre, Amethyst Cameo Pendant & Chain. Here is a really beautiful victorian rare silver pate de verre amethyst glass cameo pendant & silver chain. The chain measures twenty four inches all the way round & is all made of solid silver. This chain is a very strong curb link chain with links of approx a quarter inch each & a very good weight of approx 40g, so very substantial, but i can see why this chain has been used as it showcases the pendant & carries it well. The chain comes with a bolt ring clasp working well & has a full set of english hallmarks for silver & the 1970s & the lion hallmark on some of the links. The pendant measures nearly one & threequarter inches by just over two inches excluding the bail & is all set in antique silver & clearly marked for the early written silver mark. This pendant is quite fabulous & i have never seen an example like this before, it has a lovely cameo made of pate de verre amethyst glass. The cameo is delightfully made of the head & shoulders of an attractive lady in really beautiful detail & dates clearly to the victorian era & looks to probably be french in origin or certainly continental & just needs a good polish. This really is a beautiful victorian rare cameo pendant in very good origional complete condition that looks quite a statement piece & really lovely worn & a beautiful example for the cameo collectors. Excellent condition but has a reglued chip at top of foot at the gold ring. First quality blue Meissen mark underside of foot.
