RARE LEHMANN TRUCK – Early c1900 Tinplate Lorry with Driver. The shaft that protrudes from the side of the vehicle has a round balanced weight on the inside of the engine compartment. The truck is driven by spinning the long end of the shaft between the thumb and forefinger. The balanced weight on the shaft keeps the shaft spinning which in turn sits on top of the front wheels and drives the vehicle forwards. It’s a simple device but it works well.
