RARE Antique Pressed Glass Bathing Beauty Figure
I bought this from a picker here in Arizona. I’ve never seen another like it. I’m viewing it as either something that was a tourist item or its from a series of glass bathing beauties. It has writing in pencil at the base of her feet saying- SPORT IN VINITA. My research came up with nothing when I punched that phase in other than Vinita Oklahoma. So maybe its a souvenir piece from there. It’s an interesting piece of pressed glass, incredibly well molded exuding crisp details. Then it appears to have been factory painted and hand-decorated as the face is delicately detailed. I want to date this from 1910-20 period, perhaps into the 20’s by the style of the bathing suit. She measures 6 1/4 tall. I’m going to see if I can find out where she was made. Neat piece of glass. Thanks for looking and Good Luck.
