With wonderful large panel doors with brass handle, moulded cornice, all raised upon small cabriole legs. They have a beautiful presence and originally had a Harrods London label on them. Based on dates they were likely to have been resold by Harrods in their Antique & collectible department of used furniture. Made to wonderful proportions, itll will stand proud in any room. The burr walnut finish has a lovely texture and patina created over the last century. A beautiful piece of English history thats overflowing with historic charm. Nicely crafted instrument, with masterly carved scroll and accurately double inlaid purfling on front and back. This beautiful violin shows no open cracks or open seams, and there’re only some minor marks in it´s old varnish. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back is – as well as the neck and ribs – beautiful flamed maple. In our workshop the violin received a new setup with newly fitted pegs, newly fitted elder ebony tailpiece and ebony chinrest, a new bridge and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full tonal character of this violin! Beautiful German quality instrument in immediate playing condition! Great warm and mature sound – Please see the video & listen to the sound on youtube!
