Interesting old quality violin in excellent condition. Please listen to the video/soundfile & scroll down to see all detailed XXL photos below as part of the description! Nicely crafted instrument, with masterly carved scroll and accurately double inlaid purfling on front and back. This beautiful violin shows no open cracks or open seams, and there’re only some minor marks in it´s old varnish. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back is – as well as the neck and ribs – beautiful flamed maple. In our workshop the violin received a new setup with newly fitted pegs, newly fitted elder ebony tailpiece and ebony chinrest, a new bridge and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid finger performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to allow a comparison of the tonality of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full tonal character of this violin!
