A Rare & Beautiful 90 Year Old Antique Oak Bureau bookcase. Made in England during the reign of King George V in around 1930 to a lovely standard. The top section with a shaped top over glazed beautifully made in the Art Deco style. The lower section with fall front with carved detailing revealing a fitted interior of miniature cupboards. The base fitted with three long drawers with lovely Art Deco handles and carved drawer fronts, flanked by columns. All raised on upon bracket feet. Made to lovely proportions, it will stand proud in any room. The oak has a rich colour and pleasing patina. A wonderful piece of english history thats bursting with 1920s charm. Large Antique Art Nouveau Book Case (33cm x 24cm). For sale is a rare and beautiful antique book protector/ case. The covers are painted in a mesmerising pattern, while the blue metal interior is equally bright. I’ve researched this item and cannot find anything like it, although more traditional versions sell well. See photos for accurate description. Item generally worn and used, with fading, scratches etc. Closing the item is a little haphazard, and sometimes stays opens a few millimeters. Edge corners have gaps as photographed. Spine has approx two inch gap halfway down (see photo). Quite good in all for the age.
