Antique Art Nouveau FIX French Rolled Gold Horsechesnut Leaf & Conkers Old Rare Victorian Pin Brooch. A pretty Art Nouveau brooch that was made in France using the “Fix” process. This is rolled gold, in which a “sandwich” consisting of a plate of copper between two thin plates of gold is compressed between rollers to the required thickness and then stamped into the form of the jewel. Companies such as Murat, Fix and Oria, founded in 1847, 1823 and 1867 respectively, specialised in high quality rolled gold jewellery. For the first time in history the public could wear a jewel that looked like pure gold, and the demand was strong during the mid-nineteenth century onwards in France. This brooch dates from around 1900 and is typical of The Art Nouveau movement featuring pretty Horse chesnut leaves conkers and is set with a deep Green coloured Emerald paste glass stones. French Cotton Exotic paisley -like fabric has a vibrant red background color. With large scale leaves and flowers in blue, wine, claret, pale green and off white. ANTIQUE VTG RETRO METAL TOPPED DROP LEAF TABLE MADE IN 1931 BEAUTIFUL SHAPE RARE. You are looking at an unbelievably beautiful table. Two spots underneath have it marked as being made in 1931. The enamel on the top is in great shape with some small spots of missing paint and enamel that I have pictured. They are on the edges or sides. The legs have the original red and green paint on the otherwise stained wood. The wood could use some wood polish, oil or wax. The table is about 30 tall x 36 long. It is about 21 1/2 wide with the leaves down, 32 1/2 wide with one leaf up and 43 1/2 wide with both leaves up. This has a drawer.
