Rare & Beautiful Antique French Art Deco Alabaster Ceiling Light c1930. Acquired in Central France in September, a striking ceiling light that has fabulous rich colours within the alabaster shade, has predominantly shades of orange with grey/silver striations, these darken further when lit. The chains & ceiling cover are gilt metal with Art Deco geometric shapes/designs but. There are definite Art Nouveau influences too. The alabaster shade is substantial & heavy & unusually for pieces of this age, it has no cracks, just has one small nibble to an edge. Takes a common bayonet b22 bulb but if posting to the USA I’ll include an adapter to convert to an E26 screw-in bulb. Overall drop – 70cm (Can be shortened by removing links).
