Beautiful and Clean Antique Gundlagh Korona Wooden Folding Camera. Includes RARE Orthographic 6.5 inch by 8.5 brass lens. The Korona View camera was manufactured, in a variety of sizes, by the Gundlach Optical Company, and it’s successors, from approximately 1900 to the 1950s with a few variations. It was designed as an outdoor camera, constructed of best quality wood and metal work and leather bellows. Its range of movements are double swing back, rising and falling front, reversible back, rack and pinion focusing adjustments, and exceptional bellows capacity. It is among the cameras which is most referenced by name in Ansel’s writings. He mostly describes cameras by attributes rather than by brand or model names. But he is very specific in describing the Gundlach Korona View, and that he used both the 4 x 5 and 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 sizes. No tears in leather bellows found. The leather handle is engraved with “GUNDLAGH”. The bottom of the wooden camera is engraved with the # 36. I have no way of testing the camera, however all turning knobs and gears work properly. The lens has a couplen of small scratches but overall the lens appears to be in decent shape for its age.
