This rare and beautiful antique Turner neoclassical design stoneware jug is fine example of sprigged stoneware and a true treasure for collectors. The jug has a lovely, intricate grapevine pattern encircling it with a stunning neoclassical theme featuring three women with a dog looking on together with tree motifs. The top part of the jug has a contrasting chocolate coloured glaze. It was manufactured in the United Kingdom between 1795 and 1805, making it a unique and historic piece. There is a partialy impressed Turner mark on the underside. The jug is in very good condition looking as though it may never had been used as there are no marks or stains around the rim. The decoration is very crisp and clear and doesn’t show any signs of wear. There is a tiny line and spot of missing glaze close to the top of the jug and a few dark spots on the underside foot rim.
