A VERY FINE AND RARE MERMAID BATHING BEAUTY, NUDE, IN BISQUE MADE IN GERMANY SIGNED GERMANY AND NUMBERED 6399 DATING TO C1910. GUARANTEED TO BE AN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE BATHING BEAUTY MERMAID. Rare Bathing Beauty Large 6.5 Antique Germany Doll Nude Antique Bisque. A VERY FINE AND RARE LARGE 6.25 INCH BATHING BEAUTY, NUDE, IN BISQUE MADE IN GERMANY. The bathing beauty is in wonderful condition with no chips or damage. She is 6.25 inches (16 cm long) and 2 inches (53mm) tall. The beauty is not signed. I believe it is made by Hertwig & Co. But could also be by Gebruder Heubach or Schafer and Vater or Galuba Hofmann or! As the Victorian era passed into the Edwardian and Roaring Twenties, a market developed for bisque and china bawdy novelties and figurines of women in revealing outfits. Although now most of these figurines seem more coy and cute than ribald and risque, in their time they symbolized the casting off of the perceived restraints of the Victorian era. These little lovelies included bathing beauties, who came clad in swimsuits of real lace or in stylish painted beach wear, as well as mermaids, harem ladies, and nudies, who were meant to wear nothing more than an engaging smile. Also produced were flippers, innocent appearing figurines who reveal a bawdy secret when flipped over, and squirters, figurines that were meant to squirt water out of an appropriate orifice. Most were manufactured in Germany from the late 1800s through the 1930s, often showing remarkable artistry and imagination. Beautiful and very rare Masquerade Best Friends couple of bisque figures of adult nude women posed seated, leaning forward with legs and arms in different positions and one of them holding a flower, gray thigh-high stockings with black rims and dark grey heeled shoes, painted black masquerade masks, very light blonde mohair wigs in high hairdo with black velvet bows. Incised numbers underneath 3737/ and 3738.2. Made in germany by Galluba & Hoffman, circa 1915. Absolutely original figure with no cracks, hairlines, chips or repairs of any kind. Just one tip of pinky finger broken to right hand. Otherwise, excellent overall condition. Beautiful rare Kestner 149 17.5 cabinet size doll. Bisque head, composition bod

Absolutely stunning Kestner 149. An extremely rare doll that doesnt come up for sale often. She stands approximately 17 tall to the top of her rim and 17.5 to the top of her wig. As mentioned above she has some rubs and marks to her body commensurate with age and rubs to her paint but no hairlines or chips to her bisque. She has 4 pearly white teeth and gorgeous blue glass eyes. Please see the photos for further condition details as they do form part of the description. She will come wearing the white cotton dress as shown in the photos which has a white underdress, white underskirt and white pantaloons underneath. She will also be wearing the shoes as shown. She will not have a stand. I will tape her eyes with medical tape for her journey home which should protect them fine and will lie her face down in a box to try and aid her passage too with instructions to keep the box in the upright position. We have here a stunning but very Beautiful rare doll fully jointed even at the wrists. Body in good condition , top thigh joint on one leg seems to have suffered a little damage , but all intact and moves still (see photo) the fingers are super -still painted red nails. The eyes open and close well. Undergarments petticoats etc are the original antique ones , the moire silk taffeta dress n hat were hand made 20/30 years ago for her , they suit her beautifully. Galluba Hoffman Bisque Bathing Beauty Doll One of a Kind Rare Companion Pose

A very rare Galluba Hoffman. Perhaps one of a kind? I believe this model was designed to drape her leg over another Galluba model, perhaps a male. Note her hand and foot are up in the air. I’ve seen a very similar model. Here is an example. As you can see, her lower hand and lower foot both touch the ground. I’ve never seen this model anywhere else. It would seem she is a companion model, designed to drape her leg and arm over. Another Galluba bathing model. Sort of like this example. Here you can see a Galluba gal who was designed to lay her head on a male bather’s legs. Condition: crocheted outfit once yellow, now faded, holes in back of hat, yarn is delicate with some light wear, generally good condition; original mohair wig has some minor loss to one side but is in good shape overall. Model number stamped on base appears to be 1061, though it’s lightly stamped and hard to read (my camera couldn’t capture the numbers). Some scuffs on underside; bisque in excellent condition. 5 ¼ measured head to furthest toe. A unique piece for your collection don’t miss it! Beautiful Antique Victorian Girl’s Doll – Bisque Porcelain – Leather Bodied – Rare. Elegant Girl’s Doll from the Victorian Age. It is leather bodied and the head, forearms and legs below the knee are all made from bisque porcelain. The eyes actually close when she is laid flat and open when she is lifted upright. The arms and legs each have 2 joints. One arm was repaired by the Worthing Dolls’ Hospital in 1989 (please see the included letter in photo 8). The clothes included with this Victorian doll were specially made in 1989 by a doll dresser. They consist of a Hat, Lined Jacket, Lined Skirt, Boots, Socks, Pantaloons, Petticoat, a Neck Tie and a Long Sleeved Blouse. The Doll is Approx 41 cm (16 inches) in Height.
