Beautiful antique and rare bronze medal with high reliefs of Don Henrique the navigator, 1960. Infante Dom Henrique de Avis, 1st Duke of Viseu and 1st Lord of Covilhã, was an Portuguese and the most important figure of the early age of discovery, popularly known as Infante of Sagres or The Navigator. The medal was made by the famous sculptors João da Silva, and Vasco Conceição. It has 10 cm (3.94 inches) in diameter, 5 to 8 mm thickness, and weighs 463 grams (16.359oz).
