This 1929 proof etching is titled “Malvina” and shows a gorgeous female portrait executed in a striking lifelike style. From unbelievable facial features and shading it appears to resemble a photograph more than an etching. Signed in the plate low left the work is signed in pencil low right and verso a paper label is attached annotating “Proof” making this a more interesting rare example. The condition is fine showing a strong crisp impression with light even toning with its period wood frame showing some wear. The frame measures 18.75 x 14.75 inches while the plate measures roughly 8 x 6 inches.
