A handsome and tremendously rare antique crocodile skin! Very beautifully made and tactile. The body of the crop is from some kind of wood or cane, and it has been covered with crocodile skin. The craftsmanship is outstanding, with very neat, refined stitching. The crocodile hide has darkened and patinated to the most beautiful mahogany brown hue. The crop is in used but usable vintage condition. There is wear throughout, please see the pictures. It appears that the crop may have had some loops at some stage which have snapped off. Also, there are two scales/ sections of the crocodile that have come loose and can be wiggled around the cane. Crocodile skin is one of the most precious and sought after hides and it is remarkable to find a riding crop crafted from it. Very very few will have been made due to the cost of the material, and this crop is very special indeed. Overall a fine and beautiful thing.
