A beautiful rare German Hanau solid silver and mother of pearl box. It is hallmarked with the German Hanau marks for Simon Rosenau. I would date this piece to c1900. It has been beautifully designed with the lid being decorated with cherubs. It is in super condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs, the inside is clean and gilded. 1.5 inches (4cms) across by 0.5 inch (1.5cms) tall and weighs 26 grams. Nicely crafted master piece with masterly and widely crafted scroll with the typical Maggini extra twist and accurately double inlaid purfling on front and back. This beautiful instrument shows splits line next to the left soundhole, but no open cracks or open seams. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back – like ribs and neck – is intensely graind bird’s eye maple. The violin was completely revised in our workshop and received new setup with newly fitted elder ebony pegs, tailpiece & chinrest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin! Beautiful antique violin in immediate playing condition! Galluba & Hoffman Rare Large German Bisque Bathing Beauty

I have recently acquired a beautiful collection of vintage German bathing beauties and risqué bisque laydowns and figurals. This is one of the first to be listed. This large approx 7.75 nude laydown is attributed to Galluba and Hoffman. The detail and features are detailed and exquisite. I dont see any impressed numbers or markings, it may be under the wig which is affixed to the figure. I know that these dolls due to value have been repaired over the years, but from what I have learned from very knowledgeable collectors , I do not see any evidence of damage repair to this wonderful and vintage doll. I have looked it over carefully. I do feel a slight rough edge on the nose that may be a fleck, but cant see closely enough to tell actually what it is so please assume it is present but not noticeable Please review all pics carefully and. Old ANTIQUE German Bing bear from C 1900s. Condition is very loved with thinning mohair and worn pads (see pictures). Black boot button eyes. Original black stitched nose and mouth, lower claws but upper claws are missing. The stitching has come away one his left ear. Stands approximately 12 (30cm) no id. Squeaker no longer works. ANTIQUE German Bisque Bathing Beauty DOUBLE FIGURE / PAIR. By Galluba & Hoffman RARE & LOVELY! & ribbon bathing suits (frail), mohair wigs. Appx 6″ x 3″ x 2.5. One of the rarest & most desirable of Galluba & Hoffman’s bathing beauties from the 1920s. Two full figured ladies, one standing with right arm out & left draped over the back of her companion, who’s seated on a two-step green seat, one leg pointed out & away from seat, the other leg bent & foot back to bottom step. Standing lady has pink molded & painted ballet-type shoes; seated lady has blue ones. It’s unusual to have original suits, even if frail. Well-marked on base (see last photo). Some almost inevitable old minor damage: standing figure has old repaired fracture on her left shoulder where the arm joins–the suit strap covers it; original silk net bathing suits are frail & worn/torn in several places; otherwise excellent. A tour-de-force example of figurine making from the Art Deco period. A gorgeous, so rare & lovely piece to add to your collection! This was the crown jewel of my late husband’s collection.
