This is an incredibly rare Chinese antique. This exquisite, silver gilt, filigree brooch, made from an antique Chinese fingernail guard or protector, which were worn by high status women to protect their fingernails, is in excellent condition. It is beautifully crafted and decorated with gemstones and enamel flowers and petals and is stamped silver on the back. It measures 8.5cm in length and weighs 15.5g.

Measures: 13mm x 24mm x 7mm approx. Ruby eyes measure 1mm approx. Weight: 8.50 grams. Exellent condition, especially for it’s age; very very slight loss of detailing from rubbing on the thighs of the legs, please see photographs.
