Beautiful Antique French Mantel Clock With Tortoise Shell Veneer And Ormolu. This beautiful French mantel clock has a wonderful shaped case veneered all over with tortoise shell with a fantastic rich colour. The whole case then has a selection of shaped brass, ormolu mounts which set the case off beautifully. The stepped top then has a total of eight shaped brass finials as well as inset ormolu panels with beautiful designs. Finally the sides of the case have lovely glass panels with brass, ormolu frames so that the movement can be viewed. A truly unusual shaped case of absolutely fantastic quality. The dial is then enamel and set out in black Arabic numerals as well as smaller Arabic numerals on the quarters setting out the minutes. The dial then has two beautiful, shaped, gilt fingers which set the dial off perfectly. Finally the dial is protected by a domed, bevelled glass set into a shaped brass bezel. The movement is then wound from the front and accessed from the back. The movement is ticking away and chiming as it should and comes complete with pendulum and key. The clock strikes the number of hours on the hour as well as once on the half past via a gong. 13.25 / 33.5cm Tall. 7.75 / 19.75cm Wide. 4.5 / 11.5cm Deep. RARE ANTIQUE MERCURY GLASS VASE. Fine double walled mercury glass vase, silvered and cut retailed by E. And made by James Powell at the famous Whitefriars glassworks in London circa 1850. A luscious deep cobalt blue casing. Original sealed glass and metal plug in the botttom stamped E. Well sealed so only minor small and slight oxidisation. Size – 20 cms high. Top diameter 7 cms. Beautiful piece of art. 8.5″ Tall – 3 2/8″D Top – 3D Bottom Approx. Marked with Numbers on the base 4353 part of the base edge is smooth flattened from original production as seen in photos. For accuracy in description, on the base there are few darker spots in the glass to the right of the numbers, as seen in photos. When slightly tapped on the edge it makes a nice ring/sound, an indication that there are no cracks. Appears to be in a very nice pre-owned vintage condition that commensurate with age. This is a beautiful Rare & Heavy Fine Quality Victorian Solid Silver Inlaid Sheild Shape Cigar Holder Tray, i would estimate it dates to circa 1870 making it over 150 years old, is in lovely original condition, the solid silver inlay is so beautiful with foliage, grapes and scrolls all set within silver inlaid panels, the centre which is heart shaped also has a beautiful silver inlaid foliage, also again to the side of this wonderful Ciagr holder it has an inlaid design with a wavy edge, the decoration is typical of this era with a nod towards after dinner drinking wine and smoking cigars, this looks beautiful in contrast with the dark grey- black metal body which i believe to be pewter, its beautiful, the design is very special, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb as you would expect. I can imagine this would have either belonged to a wealthy Gentleman and been used after dinner when the Gentlemen would withdraw to the room just for the Gentlemen or maybe it would have sat on a table in a Gentlemans Club which were popular in the Victorian Period. This was many years ago when times were so very different. This is so very tactile and once held has a wonderful feel, my photos dont do it justice. This will add something special to any collection. Its very rare i have never seen such a stunning Cigar holder before. Nearly 9.5 cm width… Beautiful with just 2 little pieces of inlay missing, just mentioned for accuracy. Track Page Views With. ANTIQUE VTG RETRO METAL TOPPED DROP LEAF TABLE MADE IN 1931 BEAUTIFUL SHAPE RARE. You are looking at an unbelievably beautiful table. Two spots underneath have it marked as being made in 1931. The enamel on the top is in great shape with some small spots of missing paint and enamel that I have pictured. They are on the edges or sides. The legs have the original red and green paint on the otherwise stained wood. The wood could use some wood polish, oil or wax. The table is about 30 tall x 36 long. It is about 21 1/2 wide with the leaves down, 32 1/2 wide with one leaf up and 43 1/2 wide with both leaves up. This has a drawer.
