A rare & beautiful 240 year old Georgian Antique Oak long case Grandfather Clock. Made in Great Britain during the reign of King George III in around 1780 by clock maker D Humphrey of Machynlleth. The wonderful cornice pediment stands proudly above a glazed door with brass pull handle and carved columns on either side. The base with a lovely shaped door with inlaid escutcheon with further carved columns on either side. The beautiful dial painted with a rural scene, spandrels, roman numeral hours and outer minutes. A true antique, it would very stand proud in any room. Then oak has a wonderful patina and rich glow, created over the last two centuries.
