Pictured here is a lovely and rare antique majolica deep server with a large chestnut leaf covering the bottom. For a handle it has a sweet little bird with it’s wings outstretched. The bird is sitting on the chestnut tree branch which twines around the cobalt blue background. His wing has been repaired. We marked a small crack and some kiln shrinks in the last photos. The underside is mottled with a round base. We believe this is American made and dates to around 1880. There is no maker’s mark and there is a tiny rubbed spot on the point of the plate. Please enjoy the photos for the best look. This is a hard one to find especially in this condition, and will display well. Measurements are: 10 w. X 4 ½ tall to the top of the bird’s head.
