Beautiful rare Fischer & Meig/Pirkenhammer Bohemia small covered Sauce Tureen. Exquisite covered sauce tureen made by Fischer & Mieg, Pirkenhammer Manufactory. Founded in 1803 in Pirkenhammer, Bohemia, Austria by Johann Gottlob List and Friedrich Hocke. One of the best porcelain manufacturers in Bohemia. This covered round sauce or gravy tureen in a really striking colorful geometric aesthetic movement scroll pattern. There is some light wear to some of the gilded elements and enamels, but as you can see from the photos, this piece is vibrant and really draws your eye to the bright colors and pattern. Small flee bite on in yet rim (see photo) The gold accentuates parts of the pattern and really adds a nice touch to the red white and blue design. The handles are very interesting with three ribs which makes it easier to hold. The top finial is wonderful as well and there is a 1 slot on the lid where you can insert your favorite ladle. It measures 6.75″ high to the top of the finial and is 8″ wide from handle to handle. Unmarked, but there are several pieces in same pattern can be seen on various sites online.
