Beautiful Rare Antique c1900 Italian Bowl Back Mandolin By Luigi Poppi of Palermo. This pretty mandolin is unusual in that it was made in the Sicilian capital rather than in Catania, a renowned centre of stringed instrument manufacture on the island. It has a very close-grained spruce top, edges with contrasting lozenges of ebony and mother-of-pearl and delicate purfling. Some of the lozenges are missing. The soundhole rosette is decorated with a variety of shapes in mother-of-pearl and more purfling. There is some slight wear to this, which can be seen in the photos. The scratchplate is in the form of a butterfly, and incorporates lots of abalone. The rosewood bowl and clasp are nicely trimmed with tulipwood. The fingerboard has mother-of-pearl fret dots. The headstock has a cut-out as favoured by many Italian makers. The enclosed tuners and stringposts are brass, as is the. The nut, saddle and tuner buttons are bone. It currently only has 2 strings and will need to be restrung. The overall length is 24, the table is 8 at its widest point. WMF Rare & Beautiful Pair of Secessionist Silver Plated Twin Stemmed Candelabra

Beautiful & Rare W. Art Nouveau Secessionist Silver Plated Twin Stemmed Candelabra Dated 1903 to1907. Here we have a stylish and beautiful pair of candelabras, Very high quality and evocative of the Art Nouveau Secessionist period. Stunning bright Silver plate which shows amazing style and workmanship, they have removable sconces as should all quality candelabras, these are a wonderful example of early German Art Nouveau. Secessionist metal work made by W. (Wurttemberg Metalwork Factory -Goppingen) that dates firmly at the beginning of the 20th century, it has the running ostrich mark and the letter G underneath and also the letter B which stands for Britannia Silver, OX which is the mark for oxidised silver its also halmarked with 1/0 thickness of silver plate. I had difficulty taking the photos of these candelabras due to there shine, literally like taking a photo of a mirror, which resulted in reflections and distorted images. However they are in wonderful condition and to find a pair in this order is a rarity. Longest , widest and Highest Points. Base : 10cm x 7.5cm. F are original and free from any repairs, breakages, dents, dints or heavy scratches, they have a few very minor rubbings which will easily polish out, the silver plate on the candelabras has no or little loss with the exception of one pair of the screw sconces that does have a little silver loss on the top of pots (but very minimal) the threads of the sconces are straight, strong and with an excellent thread. Both candelabras 115 year old. Please study the photos as they are an important part of the description and will reflect this beautiful Candelabras better than I can describe. Beautiful Pierotti Type Poured Wax Rare Smaller Antique Doll 13 Inch/33cm. Absolutely beautiful wax doll with sweet gentle facial expression. She has her own antique cushion to rest on with blue ribbon. She was found in an old Harrods flower cardboard box (very worn) with some old clothes. She is very well preserved, so has probably been put away for years. She is not marked with a maker but I feel she has the looks of a Pierotti? Poured wax head and shoulder plate with inset fixed blue eyes, detailed features and inset real red hair. Poured wax arms and legs with nice detailing to hands and feet. She is dressed in a long white antique cotton gown and woolen jacket with layer of antique woolen undergarments and socks. She wears a lovely matching woolen antique bonnet. All clothes look original to her. Condition: Generally superb condition for age, slight scratch to one cheek. Clothes have some staining to them and very slightly to the cushion.
