A Rare & Beautiful 190 Year Old Georgian Antique Mahogany Chest on Chest of Drawers. Made in England during the reign of King George III in around 1830 to a lovely standard. The top section With a beautiful moulded cornice above a deep frieze with two short drawers over three long drawers with beautiful brass handles. Flanked by carved pilasters. The base fitted with three long drawers with brass handles. All raised upon shaped bracket feet. Made to wonderful proportions theyd stand proud any room. The mahogany has a wonderful glow and pleasing patina created over the last 190 centuries. A wonderful piece of English history thats bursting with historic charm. As expected with it age, lots of wear and tear including losses to veneer and trim. Few slats missing from the back but unseen. Solid, functional and stunning. A Rare & Beautiful 160 Year Old Antique French 19th C Armoire. C1860

A Rare & Beautiful 170 year old Antique 19th Century French Armoire. Made in France during the reign of King Louis Philippe I in around 1850 to a lovely standard. The beautiful deep moulded shaped cornice over two lovely french panelled doors with ornate escutcheons. The doors open to reveal a hanging rail and pegs to the rear. All raised upon a plinth base. Made to wonderful proportions and bursting with french country charm, t would grace any room. The wood has a wonderful colour and pleasing Patina created over the last 170 years. A beautiful piece of French history thats overflowing with historic charm. As expected some wear in line with its age. With minor knocks, bumps and small splits. Excellent french design means this cupboard will arrive. Flat pack – no screws or screwing required to put it together it just all slots together. The two sides slot in the base then the four back panels can be tapped/ pushed into place with the three planks also. The lid can then be slotted on top and the doors slotted into place. No hinges just a thin rod on either end which slots into the armoire. Quite enjoyable putting together and took me about 15 minutes on my easier. Far easier with two people. All fits together nicely, few gaps around the top depending on how level floor is as seen in pictures. A wonderful rare french Antique which are not easy to come by these days. This extremely rare whole set has 30 pieces: 12 coffee cups, 12 plates, 1 coffee pot, 1 sugar pot and 1 creamer. They was decorated with gold gild all the over, with hand painted flowers like lilies and chrysanthemums. They were made in the late Meiji era to early Taisho period in the early 1900s, when Japanese started to be heavily influenced by the Western culture and the industrial revolution was booming in Japan. Bases marked with Made in Japan. Its common to see a coffee set with 6 cups or even 8 cups. This set has 12 cups with no missing pieces! This is extremely rare!! Tea pot: 6.76 height, 3.5 diameter. Sugar pot : 4.4 height, 3.2 diameter. Creamer: 4 height, 2.9 diameter. Coffee cup: 2.2 height, 2 diameter. Plate: 4.2 diameter, 0.6 height. Condition: In good antique condition with reasonable signs of age with stains, wear and tear loss of paint, color and gilt. Theres a small chip on one of the coffee cups.
