Rare Old Austria Wax Pretty Lady Doll Beauty on Feather Bed Candy Container Box

This hard to find piece is in overall very good condition and marked Austria. This wax doll sits about 6 1/2 tall on the cardboard box. She is 8 long measuring from head to toe. The box is 8 1/2″ long x 5 3/4″ x 2 tall. Small wear to the cardboard edges at the closure. The box is rather domed in the center and covered with actual bird feathers (her feather bed). Although there are a couple of small bare feathers, it is mostly covered. Her clothing is in very nice shape with only a small bit of yellowing due to age. No holes or tears. Oddly, her hands are discolored with not much detail. Her feet and shoes are nice. Her limbs are attached by wires (see pics). Regardless, she is sturdy and is wired on to the lid. It probably would have been difficult to make her in one piece with this bent pose. A small label (Austria) is placed over the gathered wire underneath the lid. A stunning gold plated 19th century Kashmiri Quran manuscript (complete) penned in the beautiful north Indian Nastaliq script. Gold illumination in the beginning, the middle and the last two pages of the manuscript. In total, Kashmiri gold plated artistry on six leaves. Chapter headings in red ink. The text background neatly coloured. Crude repairs to about 15 leaves without loss of text. Slight ink spread on very few words (common with Quran manuscrips). Size 21 cm by 14 cm. Recent maroon leather binding sympathetically done to maintain the oriental/Mughal look. A beautiful example of late-Mughal Kashmiri manuscript artistry. Antique “Singer” 1886 New Family 12, Serial numbers: 7132089, 1835689. Manufactured in Elizabeth, NJ. Hand crank model with nice Bentwood Case with the Singer emblem on the front. This is a beautiful example of an unrestored antique Singer 12 hand crank sewing machine, with the desirable “fiddle base”. The acanthus leaves stenciling are in excellent condition and are still bright and colorful with only a few rubs from normal wear and use. There are also a few nicks and minor blemishes from normal age related wear. The bobbin and shuttle are in place under the base plate. There is a photo of the underneath of the machine and you can see thread extending from the bobbin. The machine wheel turns freely and the needle easily moves up and down. The bentwood case fits well and securely goes to place to protect the sewing machine and is in great cosmestic condition…. The Singer emblem is almost unblemished. Nicely crafted instrument with masterly and widely crafted scroll with the Maggini extra twist and accurately double inlaid purfling on front and back. This beautiful instrument shows only some minor marks in it´s old amber varnish, but no open cracks or open seams. The table is medium to fine grained spruce and the back – like ribs and neck – is intensely flamed maple. The violin was completely revised in our workshop and received new setup with new ebony pegs, new ebony tailpiece, new ebony chinrest, a new bridge, new soundpost and new strings. These are new German silver wound steel core strings with good projection, easy to play while allowing rapid performance. We use these strings on mostly all of our violins to provide a comparison of the tonal qualities of each instrument in the videos. In any case a new owner should consider higher quality strings of own personal preference to enhance the full character of this violin! Beautiful antique violin in immediate playing condition! See working at this video on youtube. This very Rare Beautiful Antique Polyphonic Upright Disc Music Box sounds amazing. It plays metal music discs measuring approximately 9 to 9.5 inches. I believe this is a very Rare desktop or wall mountable player known as “The Britannia”. It comes with Disc Pictured as well as 4 more authentic “Britannia” Discs, so you have some variety with your beautiful sounding music box. The double combs appear 100% complete with no signs of broken tips. Measurements of this awesome collectible are: 21.5 inches to top of unit or 26 1/4 inches tall to top of the clock. The width is about 13 3/8 inches on the cabinet and about 16.5 inches on base (not including crank). Depth of cabinet is approximately 7.5 inches and the base is roughly 9 3/8 inches.
